Flipcart is Hiring Talent to Engineer For Rejig 

 

After an exodus of the senior management from the company over the past year, online marketplace Flipkart is now going to  hiring to strengthen its engineering team. The Flipcart will focus on hiring mid-management employees in 3  core areas for engineering including cloud infrastructure,  mobile experience and personalisation.

The current focus is on hiring engineers  for flipcart with typically 2 to 5 years of experience, which is a key area of investment for the company. Flipkart will also hire contract employees to strengthen the operations of its cacaptive logistics unit Ekart.

The focus on hiring comes after a year of high-profile exits from the company who were recruited during 2015. Close to six senior vice-presidents a and directors have left the company since January when Tiger Global's Kalyan Krishnamurthy took over as chief executive officer. Since January, the company has seen the return of old hands to helm key operations for supply chain of mobile phones, grocery among others.

"Engineering  Flipkart is hiring talented engineers so that they will drive our innovation edge. The assumption is that is that e-commerce company is driven by capital, but it is (actually) driven by new innovation. We are proud to have a truly world-class talented and innovative engineering function which is a source of innovation. The first investment is to grow that," said Nitin Seth, chief operating officer of Flipkart in an interview to ET.

Apart from improving the experience on mobile, the teams will focus on building the company's cloud infrastructure and focus on research areas such as artificial intelligence,  machine learning, natural language processing and other areas of data science to make shopping on the platform a personalised experience.

With about a billion dollar coming its way as part of the recent round of funding, the company is also looking to strengthen its sourcing for key categories including lifestyle, large appliances and furniture as well as the new category for grocery.

The company, which has a large workforce of 7,800 employees on its rolls, has about 240 members in the top management.

"In the year  2015, we made a big shift. There was a large influx of new leaders and it got difficult for the company to fully absorb. The Flipkart culture, which is a very unique culture, got diffused with the size and the suddenness of the change. When I joined last year, it was about strengthening FK culture," said Seth.

State Uttar Pradesh's new Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in parliament on Tuesday that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi & the party had given him the responsibility of running the country's largest state. This responsibility will be run on the path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will make UP the best state of country by making the state as soon as possible.

Told the Adityanath Yogi's house that during the tenure of the Modi government, the Uttar Pradesh government had given total 2.5 lakh crore rupees for development of the Uttar Pradesh State. But the Akhilesh government of UP has been able to spend only Rs 78 thousand crore in this amount.

Promoting the economy

CM Adityanath Yogi said that in the last three years the economy of the our country has been increased a lot. This is a matter of curiosity for the world. The world wanted to see the phenomenon of monetization, what would be the consequences, even then the growth rate is going up by 7.8.

Making a dream of PM,

keeping in mind the UP Lok Sabha, the Yogi said that in the days to come , UP will be PM's dream state. There will be corruption, riot, fascism free from UP. Will give a model of development in UP, mother sisters will not have to say for security reasons.

The Yogi said that when the PM Modi came to power, the Center had very opposite circumstances. The state's deficit was 8.9 per cent, the revenue loss was 2.8 per cent. But even then PM Modi has enhanced the glory of the country in front of the world. Wherever elections have taken place in the country, people see Modi as CM.Yogi said that the UPA will be free from corruption, will be riot free. There is a lot going on in the state now.
